I just watched this long awaited movie, Dragonball Evolution. I'm a big fan of the original manga series since I was in primary school and I never missed even one episode, and I'm sure there are millions more Dragonball fans like me. Hearing that the series was going to be adapted into movie really excite me, but after watching the manga adaptation just now, all I can say is that it was a big fucked up Dragonball story. The characters are way too different than the original story. Goku in the real story is a boy with a naive character. He's very unpredictable and also uneducated as he lives with his grandfather, Gohan in the middle of nowhere, far away from the city life. When he first met Bulma, he doesn't even know how to distinguish a boy and a girl! However, Goku in this movie is some kind of geeky teenager (maybe that's why his friends called him 'Geeko', besides teasing his weird name), living with his grandfather Gohan and goes to school like what a normal boy would do. He's not as naive as the 'real' Goku and he even have feelings with Chi Chi (wait~..Chi Chi goes to school too?..lol!). It's an opposite of the 'real' Goku!..All of the character in the movie almost have the same opposite characteristic of their 'real' manga character. The only same thing between them are their names. lol~! ..Piccolo in here shown as only one character, while in the 'real' story there should be two of them, King Piccolo (father) and Piccolo (son). The storyline were total nonsense and I bet any Dragonball fan would not satisfy with this crappy adaptation. The only thing that keeps me watching is the cutie Jaime Chung (Chi Chi), else I would have left the cinema and even ask for my money back.

*I guess the director doesn't even read the Dragonball series!..and I believe there will be a sequel since in the last scene, Piccolo is shown to survive the battle.
