Gmail Notifier error 12057
My beloved Gmail Notifier stopped working since earlier today. It gives a certificate error no. 12057, which is weird since I've done nothing with the settings, etc. A quick Googling finally solved the problem which is caused by the settings in IE, which is also weird since I never used my IE browser nor change any of its settings. However, this is the simple solution to eliminate the certificate error:
? Launch Internet Explorer.
? Go to Tools, Internet Options.
? Click on the Advanced tab.
? Scroll down to the Security section and uncheck ?Check for
server certificate revocation*? and select SSL 2.0, SSL 3.0,
and TLS 1.0.
? Under the Content tab, click on Clear SSL state, click on OK.
? Click on OK to close out of Internet Explorer.-credit: source

Hi, today I had the same problem all the suddely. Also my virus scanner was having problems saying it needed to be updated asap, however when I did, it told me it was up to date.
I just came home again, and saw the problem: my computer date was 8 months from now in the future. Restoring this to the current date solved both of my problems.
Just my 2 cents

Brilliant! Worked a treat!
Thanks a lot.
Btw this works even if internet explorer is not your system default browser.
